How to Make Time for Date Nights!

Ah!! The title says it all, when you have a tiny tot in the house calling your name and wanting to be with you always, its a little difficult to give time to your other half which got you this bundle of joy! I had Saanvi very early in my marriage (Very early is an understatement ). Indian marriages are a little different! Though mine is not an arranged marriage, but you dont live together till you get married, which makes the first few years very critical in your relationship. Those are the years when you find out literally everything about each other, their eating habits, sleeping habits and so on. I had Saanvi in our first year of marriage!

Though she is the best thing that happened to US, we just could not bring it in us to be separated from her. You know, the guilt kicks in every time you think anything but your child and specially if you are a working mom, it just adds 10 more points to every guilt feeling. Anyways, I think that is enough of a reminder for all of you and me. This year, me and Subbu thought of breaking out of that habit. Saanvi is turning 12 and soon she will be an adult (probably never for US) which meant that we need to finally practice being with each other without her. The thought no matter how scary and daunting is a reality that happened to our parents, will happen to us and even for Saanvi if and when she becomes a parent.

Here is a pic of us getting ready for an event

I am proud of this accomplishment that we have finally started the DATE NIGHTS!! It is a hell lot of planning and mental preparation, but after having a few of those, we realize the benefits. You definitely reconnect with your partner and appreciate each others effort and contribution to the relationship and to your child(ren). You suddenly start agreeing on things that you never did! I think I will have more discoveries when we do have more of these in the future, but the toughest thing for me was to realize that I have nothing in my entire closet for a date night outfit.

I know you guys must be laughing, but that is the reality. I only saw work appropriate clothes, and there is nothing wrong with that, but you do want to look nicer than your usual self for this person to rekindle that something between you (I had more words, but it always means something different for all of and I did not want to define it with these words). DO YOU GUYS FEEL THE SAME! LET ME KNOW WHAT WERE YOUR HACKS AND STYLES THAT YOU WORE TO DATE NIGHTS!

I am sharing with you some of my recent date night inspirations:
