Hello everyone! This is a post about me. I have been meaning to write about this for a bit, but I ended up creating a video instead which I will share from at the end of this post as well.
There were so much more that I have wanted to share in the video, but that would make a really long video. Anyways, in this Era of social media where we all think we know everything about each other just because we are friends on Facebook or instagram or snap chat. But, unfortunately, we only know that aspect of what is shared in those posts, pictures and stories.
Growing up I always aspired to have friends with whom I can confide in and share anything with. But in this ever growing complicated world I guess we have lost sight of that. All we want to do is party together and share happy moments, but shy away from sharing who we really are with people whom we call our friends. Don’t mean to start an educational or psychological session about friendship and the meaning of it.
Sharing some things about me in this post and more in the video below:
Now, there are many, but I am scared of heights, so you will probably never see me near roller coasters, or any tall buildings or anything. I wasn’t always scared, I used to enjoy them a lot. Some of my school and college friends can vouch for me. But, when I became a mother, a sense of overpowering responsibility took over that fun loving individual. And anything that is remotely dangerous became really painful and scary. This also includes Horror Movies.
Again, I have many, but I hate liars and fakes. I just can’t stand them. Being and Arian (Guess my birthday), I am a very opposite pole kind of person, or you can call it binary person. I can’t see the gray side of anything. Though as I am growing older, I am practicing this habit of being ok with the gray side. But I have to be honest, I have broken relationships with people who I have found to be fake and liars, because in my opinion, a relationship is based on truth and trust. Everything else is just a waste of time. WHAT’S YOUR THOUGHT ON THIS?
This is something my husband also asked me when I started blogging. I am doing this because this is something I have dreamt of doing all my life. I have always been a creative person and always fan of fashion and creativity that goes into it. I had started this a couple of years ago, but I guess I was not ready then. I gave up after a few weeks into it, because I did not take it too seriously. But now I look at these young women in there early 20s going all in with there content and blog, and I feel so inspired that the women of this generation are so serious and strong minded.
And I want to be that example for my daughter as well.
I have always had 1 person as my role model. That is my mother. Her sheer courage and determination in life gave me the strength to be who I am today. Growing up in India, a life of a girl child is not the best. Though I was never discriminated, but I had been part of social abuse in the form of eve teasing, shaming and many more. But she has always stood by me, gave me strength. As a mother she also sacrificed a lot for me to get to where I am in life and most of all she taught the value of a family. I owe it all to her. I love you Mom.
Again, a lot of things I would like to tell me younger self, but the one most important thing that I would advise her is to love yourself and not waste time searching for it. Yes, I have always had this issue of thinking that someone else would love me more and give me all the happiness in the world. But today looking back to it, I totally think that I had gotten that wrong. We as women need to love ourselves first in order to reflect that and at the end get happiness. We are enough, we are lovable and beautiful. I feel like the sooner women understand that, the faster they can reach contentment and true happiness.
Do you have anything that you would like to ask me. Drop a note and I would do my best answering those.
