Wondering how to look fall ready while wearing white? In this post, I am sharing some chic outfit Ideas that will help you to wear white in Fall effortlessly.
Can You Wear White After Labor Day?
I am not really sure why would or should there be such a fashion rule which absolutely does not make sense. But if you look at clothing, when you associate them with fall and winter months which are cooler, darker time of season, it is natural to associate with darker tones of garment.
And probably that was the biggest reason, you typically don’t see a lot of clothes in white or fashion magazines displaying models in white.
But with time, fashion has also changed its mindset about wearing white for cold weather. In fact, I have seen an increasing number of items from different brands displaying winter white pieces that looks so refreshing compared to black or other darker colored clothes.
So, you can definitely wear white after Labor Day in fact whenever you want to.
But, lets see how to easily rock white in winter without feeling like you are still in summer.
Wear White LightWeight Sweater
The easiest way to rock white as the weather gets cooler, is to pick a white lightweight sweater.
Simply wear them with you summer bottoms to transition into a cooler weather.
Or if it’s already cold, then wear with your cold weather bottoms.
Just avoid leggings if you want to look classy.
White Sweater + Joggers + Loafer Mules
This outfit is my favorite and perfect for ladies who work from home.
Wear a lightweight sweater with black joggers to create a comfortable yet put together look. If you don’t have joggers, you can also wear black wide leg pants.
Pair it with white loafer mules to complete the monochrome outfit.
This outfit formula is an easy fail safe way of looking put together and stay comfortable.
White Sweater + Tailored Pants + Pumps
Yes you can sprinkle in some colors as well. Another monochromatic outfit here. Pair your white lightweight sweater with colored tailored pants.
And add either white or matching pumps to create a polished outfit that you can wear for any of your going out events.
Or you can also wear this to office.
You will look put together and not feel weird that you are wearing a bright color in fall season.
White Striped Sweater + Leather Skirt + Sneakers
Striped collared sweaters are my favorite sweaters in fall and winter. They add some definition to any plain boring cold weather outfit.
If you are craving for a casual chic outfit, then this is it. Simply pair the striped sweater with a black skirt.
It does not have to be a leather skirt. You can also pair it with plain black pleated skirt.
Adding sneakers to this outfit makes it casual and comfortable. You can wear this as a smart casual outfit to work. Or head to run errands while looking put together.
Wear White Outerwear
You can still wear your summer clothes, but with a white wool blend coat you can easily create a fall look that looks effortless.
And in winter you can wear it with sweaters and boots. Matching your coat with boots is an easy way to create cohesive looks for winter.
You can also wear white leather jacket in fall instead of black leather jacket. An excellent alternative to look casual yet polished.
White Coat + Black Tshirt + Black Leather Pants + Loafer Mules
This outfit formula is my favorite and easiest way to transition from summer to fall when it’s not that cold yet to wear knitwear.
Simply add a white wool blend coat to your black t-shirt and pants outfit to instantly look sophisticated and polished.
You can wear any footwear, but the white loafer mules complete the monochromatic look and feel cohesive with everything else you are wearing.
Once you try it, this will become your go to outfit.
White Coat + Turtleneck + Leather Pants + White Boots
When the weather gets cooler, simply swap your t-shirt with something warmer.
A fitted turtleneck with black leather pants looks polished.
Add white long coat and finish the look with white ankle boots to complete this look.
Even though you are wearing white, this outfit looks perfect for cold weather.
White Leather Jacket + Shirt + Black Jeans + White Loafer Mules
Plaid is a great way to embrace fall weather. But they also look too casual. And easy way to elevate your plaid shirt outfit is by layering it with white leather jacket.
This instantly makes the outfit luxe even if it’s laidback.
The white loafer mules match the white jacket and make this outfit put together and cohesive.
You can literally wear this outfit formula everyday for all your casual fall looks.
Wear White Bottoms
A pair of good and relaxed fit white jeans are a must winter white essentials. You might already own these, if so, you can continue to wear it all year and not just for summer.
I love a good wide leg jeans or pants for fall and winter because you can wear boots with them easily as well as fitted sweaters and tops as well.
And if you have a straight figure you know that wearing chunky sweaters can get challenging for you in winter. But with wide leg jeans you can easily wear them and look flattering with them.
I like a good raw hem jeans for fall and winter which adds a bit of edginess to my outfit that balances out all of the structured pieces that I wear.
White Jeans + Striped T-shirt + Black Leather Jacket
Wide Leg jeans can look really flattering in the cold weather. We usually wear legging or skinny jeans because we want to wear tall boots with them, but you know that you can easily wear boots with wide leg jeans.
In fact you can wear tall boots without have a lump around the ankle. And if you wear pointy toe boots your legs look way longer.
White Pants +White Turtleneck + Nude Boots + Leather Jacket
You can also go all white with a white sweater and white wide leg pants. A turtleneck is an elevated version of sweater that makes your outfit look expensive.
Since everything is on the white shade side, it’s always good to add a contrast. So, the black leather jacket is added a contrasting look to your sweater outfit.
Wear White Boots
You probably already knew that I was going to come to this, but yes white boots are the easiest way you can add some brightness to your winter outfits.
And they actually look way more expensive than they are because of the color. These boots are from Marc Fisher and easily look luxurious because of the pointy toes and grained leather finish.
If you are just starting out with white boots, I recommend going for a Chelsea boot which is the most versatile pair of boots. Check out how you can style them and other styles of white ankle boots in my previous post.
Colored Sweater Dress + White Ankle Boots
Love wearing sweater dresses, now you have a way to make it look nicer. Simply add white ankle boots to midi or long sweater dress.
You look ready for fall and the white ankle boots make your outfit luxe. And this is an easy way to wear any colored sweater dress.
Colored Sweater Dress + White Ankle Boots
This is the easiest way you can white in the fall and winter weather. And this outfit looks smart and elevated.
You also don’t have to wear black wide leg pants. That’s the fun part. You can add white ankle boots to colored pants too. But in that case, just ensure that you are not wearing too many colors.
In this outfit, the white tote bag compliments the white ankle boots.
Wear White Wool Blazer
A wool or a wool blend blazer will be the perfect alternative to a coat for fall when the weather hasn’t gotten that cold to wear them.
But white blazers also look really chic with casual as well as formal outfits. And you should definitely own 1 pair to look chic and sophisticated in them.
You can pair them with T shirts or even short sleeve sweaters to create a fall look in white.
Usually these wool sweaters are more relaxed so layering them with a bit of a chunkier piece will not be a problem.
White Wool Blazer + White Sweater + Printed Skirt + White Boots
White blazers are not just for summer. You can also wear them in fall and winter. In this outfit, I have created a white monochrome look by wearing everything in white except the skirt.
This outfit is so classy and yet such a fun way to keep wearing your summer printed skirts.
You can also swap the white boots to something that compliments the skirt color as well.

You can also wear it as a sweater that you are not taking off with your favorite dress.
In this outfit I am wearing a sleeveless sweater dress that needed some coziness. And the white sweater blazer adds sophistication. And I am comfortable too.
I added a belt to create a waist definition and that’s it.
You can create this look with satin or silk dresses too which are harder to wear in the cooler weather.
