Whether you own these Chloe Logo slides or you have leather slides with Canvas top, we all know managing a white pair is troubling and from time and again we would like to keep it clean.
Its really important that we take care of the pieces in our wardrobe whether they are luxury goods or not. That is the key to using them and enjoying them for a long time. So, I am starting this section of the blog to share all the care guide you need for your wardrobe.
Now, that I got that out the door, lets get started to how I cleaned them without ripping the glued logo on the weaved canvas top.
Plus, you cannot wash them because the sole is leather. With these multi material slides it is definitely tricky. But it can be done.
Let’s begin.

Materials I Used
I researched a bit and found some cleaning wipes that did not require me rubbing the canvas a lot. But below are everything that I used:
- Canvas Shoes Cleaning Wipes – These Specialize in cleaning shoes, so I felt like it would be good to use.
- Leather Cleaning Lotion – Which helps to condition and clean the leather sole.
- Footwear Stain & Water Repellent Spray – I wanted to use this so, the knit canvas would attract more dirt (I am testing this out, hoping that it would work).
Step 1: Cleaning the Canvas Straps
I took the wipes and slowly started wiping the areas where I saw some scuffs or black marks. But I was careful enough not to use the wipes or rub any of the leather logo section.
These areas are not really dirty, but the slides have 3 layers of canvas straps and all of them have the logo glued. So you need to be careful not to scrub that area, because you might end up removing the logo.
The ended up using more than one wipes, but I really wanted to be careful not to scrub too hard, so using the fluid in the wipes to do the cleaning.
Since the straps are not just plain canvas. They feel more like weaved canvas like seatbelts. So, the dirt usually stays trapped in it.
So, it took me a bit of time to clean all the dirt out. I didn’t care much about the bottom part, but I made sure that the top of the strap is completely cleaned.
And doing it slowly is the best way to go where you can e careful that you don’t rub the logo.
Step 2: Cleaning the Leather Sole
This step is fairly easy and literally takes a few minutes depending on how much your soles are dirty. I used the leather lotion using a cotton pad to clean the top part of the sole.
Now make sure that you use the smoother or the back part of the cotton pads. I got these ones from Target, but if you want you can also buy them from Amazon.
Make sure to take a generous amount of the lotion so that you can clean it properly. Also because the cotton does absorb some of it.
I had some dirt trapped in the logo that is engraved on the sole because of the hollow part.
So, if you take a bit of the leather lotion, and rub it on that section, it smoothly comes out. This makes it easier to clean. And feel good about the luxury shoes.
And you can totally see the amount of dirt on the cotton. It definitely felt satisfactory.
Step 3: Spray the Stain Repellent
I am literally obsessed with stain repellents. They help keep stain away from leather bags, furnitures and so on. But this stain repellent is specially made for shoes and handbags and it is water based.
So be assured it does not affect the leather logo on top.
All I did it after the straps have somewhat dried. I sprayed from 6 inches away from the straps for uniform application.
And I let it dry.
If you get them on the leather sole, just wipe them and you would be good to go.
Its important that you let the slides dry for atleast 24 hours so that the repellent seals the straps properly.
And you are ready with a brad new pair of slides. I also want to show the before and after of how they look post cleaning them.
I am super happy how they turned out and glad to be sharing this with you all.
