15 Stylish & Modest Party Dress Styles: Cover Tummy And Arms - Blog Banner

You must be equally excited as I am for all the holiday parties and events. But are you stressed about not being able to find anything that is modest but still looks nice and stylish to get all the compliments from your friends.

In this post I am sharing party dress styles and my favorites that are so fun and stylish that you can’t wait to wear them, but they do not require you ti have flat abs or skinny arms. These dress styles will look flattering on average body type like mine.

You will not look amazing but you will feel comfortable in them all night and fully enjoy the party and turn plenty of heads doing that.

In this post I have 15 different dress styles and links that will help with you modest party dress shopping.

Table of Contents

Puff Sleeve Maxi Dress in Metallic Finish

The volume bodice style of the dress is modest and will flatter all  body type. And if you have a little tummy situation, that most of us have, then this dress will do a great job of hiding. With the belt which you can switch with a leather one, you create a waist definition without it being too tight.

The metallic fabric looks festive and fun. Pair it with dangly earrings, party shoes, bags and you are ready to rock any party.

Sequins Shift Dress

Shift dresses are perfect for parties because they don’t hug your body a lot. So you can eat and drink without worrying about looking bloated in them.

But add some sequins to it and the dress looks so chic. And if you get a full sleeve one you are not only looking stylish, you are also cozy and comfortable.

You can drink, dance and relax all night without being body conscious.

Satin Fit and Flare Dress

Satin instantly makes an outfit look party ready with the shininess of the fabric. And if you find a darker color like burgundy, red or navy, they would be great for night parties and slimming too.

Pair it with some gold jewelry and party accessories and you will look so chic effortlessly.

And because it’s a fit and flare style, it’s forgiving too. This outfit looks classy and stylish. And the best part, you can wear it again and again.

Faux Wrap Dress

I am all here for wrap dresses because they will hide all your imperfections. Faux wrap dresses are the best style where you get the benefit of a wrap dress without having to worry about it unraveling. So you can dance all night in confidence.

This dress looks elegant and sophisticated and with the sequin, it’s the party dress of the night. And sure head turner. Because its in black you can wear it year after year without it getting outdated.

Sheer Sleeve Fit And Flare Dress

When you are trying to wear a modest dress but you also want to create a flirtatious look, sheer sleeves come in handy. Pick a fit and flare style dress that is designed to emphasize the sheer sleeves and make you look elegant and chic.

The midi length of the dress will be flattering, modest and comfortable to sit and dance in. So, if you have a work party and you are looking for a chic dress, this is definitely the one.

You can tie your hair or create soft curls with cute earrings for a party ready look.

Lace Sleeve Dress

A lace dress with sheer lace sleeves also looks romantic and modest. You are showing your skin subtly without it being too much. You can opt for maxi dress but they tend to look too bohemian. Instead pick a midi length one.

Add black heels to the outfit to create a party ready look. The long sleeve and flattering silhouette will elevate your look and give you the confidence to enjoy the night.

Tiered Puff Sleeve Maxi Dress

This dress looks so elegant and flattering for a lot of body type. The puff sleeve cover your arms but also flatter your overall look because of the fit and flare style of the dress.

The tiered structure of the dress makes it really elegant and sophisticated. And it creates an hourglass shape. You can easily get away with this dress even if you have a little tummy.

Pair it with your favorite heels and some simple jewelry since the dress does everything.

Printed Maxi Dress with Sweetheart Neckline

The sweetheart neckline makes it romantic but the long sleeves are modest yet chic. Again a fit and flare style of dress but with the print it adds more interest and style to the dress.

Pair it with black heels and some dangly jewelries to make this the statement outfit of the night.

This dress is lightweight, yet it looks so chic and perfect for a evening out elegant party.

Silk Faux Wrap Maxi Dress

This one is elegant stylish but completely modest. The faux wrap style saintly night only looks flattering, it also creates a romantic elegance. I love the V neck, which always looks slimming, so if you are worried that this dress might make you look fat, you have nothing to worry about.

Pick a bright colored dress that you can wear to cocktail and formal events. This dress will flatter any body type.

Red Shift Dress

A red dress no matter how simple  it looks always is a stunning party outfit. And this color is perfect if you are headed to a holiday party.

You can dress it up even more with black evening bag, and black sandals for party. But when it comes to jewelry keeping it minimal will make the red shade stand out even more.

The shift style of the dress makes it comfortable, but the over the knee style balances it out.

Tuxedo Dress

You can also call it a blazer dress. These are really structured and look sophisticated and great for evening formal parties where you don’t want to wear something fitted. But you still look sophisticated because of the fit of the dress.

This is my favorite style of the dress for work parties, where you are the right amount covered but still look chic and stylish. Pick it in a vibrant color or go black. Either way your outfit looks chic, sophisticated.

But these styles of dresses are not body hugging, so they are comfortable to wear. Pair it with heels and rhinestone earrings. A nice evening bag for that effortless but show stopping party look.

Colored Sweater Midi Dress

A sweater midi dress can also be really fun and perfect for a party. you just need to dress it up. Pick a sweater dress in a fun color like Fuchsia or green. Add some chic tall boots and accessories.

Pair it with your favorite coat and your outfit is ready for a party. You will be cozy and also comfortable in the outfit. I love wearing fit and flare or a little oversized sweater dress that you can add a belt to create a waist definition and also elevate it.

Neck Tie Shift Dress

A plain shift dresses can be a bit boring, but with a contrasting neck detail, it looks classy and a perfect minimalist party outfit. I love the black and white contrast that looks elegant and sophisticated.

Pair nice heels and sparkly earrings to create the comfortable, modest and classy party outfit with this style of dress. And the cool thing is, you don’t have to wear black.

Tulle Midi Dress

Tulle skirts are my absolute favorite, but if you wear a tulle dress, its next level. The tulle bottom makes you look elegant and romantic and this style of dress is perfect for evening formal parties where you need to shine. So if the dress has embellishment, that is an added benefit.

This style of dress also makes it easy to accessorize. If you don’t like heavy jewelry, you don’t have to wear it with the dress at all. because all the beading in the dress sparkles. You can wear minimalist sandals and handbag and ready to party while looking stunning.

The fit and flare style of the dress is also very comfortable.

Modest Black Velvet Dress

Black dresses are the best ones for night parties, but a black velvet dress in a modest fit and flare silhouette changes things a bit. The velvet fabric makes the dress cozy in the winter nights. And it also looks really chic.

Since it’s in black, it slims you down and with loose sleeves your arms will look slimmer too.

You can add a jacket for comfort, but this dress will be comfortable as is.
