6 Must have Skincare Products in my Daily Routine

As I am getting older, I have started paying more attention to my skin. I always used to spend more money on my hair than on my skin, but as I got older, I suddenly started paying way more attention to it. Funny how things work. But after trying so many products and going through so many changes to my skin, I think I am ready to share what is actually working for me.

Skincare products have a way of underwhelming us, because we often seek faster results like a spa treatment or a facial can do, but ignore the power of a good regular skincare regime. Just like the power of consistent working out. It slowly builds up and produces excellent result only if we stay consistent.

I learnt that the hard way after years of trying different beauty and regretting buying them because I didn’t see result. Its only in a couple of years that I decided to keep my skin regiment consistent to see if I can actually see result. And I am sharing 6 products that I have stuck to over all these years and have actually made a huge difference. Now, I do have more products that I will share eventually which are like facial cleansing and toning, but in this post I wanted to talk to you about these 6 skin care basics that I use for Day and Night and have been pretty consistent and have seen results.

Serums

I cannot tell you how important they are. They are like protein powders for our body. I know its a funny way to compare them like this, but you understand why the comparison. They are a concentrated version of ingredients that our skin needs and being in the format of fluid, they are absorbed faster. And I have stuck to these two ones for I cant remember how long.

Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum

The Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum is something that I never knew I needed. Though my skin has no sign of aging yet, I was getting pigmentation around my cheeks and when speaking to Aestheticians they did recommend that my skin was dehydrated. Though I didnt believe it. I had to give it a thought. A good way to check that is to feel your skin after you wash your face. If it feels tight, then your skin needs hydration.

All you need is a drop of this serum and it does its job. I have been using this serum for over 6 years now and have never felt better. My skin stays moisturized and feels really good.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

I do have oily skin, so I assumed that I dont need more moisture, but that changes as you get older since your pores start opening up slowly. The serum is Paraben-free and Sulphate-free. And is packed with hydration. One one drop is enough after your toner and follow up with moisturizer and I am all set for the day. Its pretty lightweight, but I saw a difference in my skin. My skin actually felt less oily and softer. And now I cant part ways.

I use the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum during night by itself during summer and with the Génifique serum in winters for some added hydration. I cannot tell you how much I love it. It has all the hydration I need with more age fighting ingredient that I wanted to start earlier. The best part is that it recovered my uneven skin tone because of the skin. Its also sulfate and paragon free. I have been using the Estée Lauder serum longer than the Lancôme one and I would recommend it in a heart beat.

Moisturizers

If you are using the same moisturizer for day and night, please stop now. You have to think of it this way. You probably not use the same exercises for your arms that you are using for your legs, because they are just not the same. Its exactly the same for the night and day moisturizers. The daytime moisturizer needs to have an SPF and more sun battling ingredients.

Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Day Cream Moisturizer

The Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 Day Cream Moisturizer is exactly that with proper SPF and is a lightweight moisturizer that you need during the day especially if you wear makeup as well. It smells good too. It has all the ingredients that you need to fight any skin damage during the day.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

The Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital Night Cream Moisturizer is the best cream I have used as a night cream. It is lightweight and quick absorbing. And with Omega 3 & 6, its packed with anti oxidants that your skin needs to repair at night, just like your body. Its my favorite thing at night to do after cleaning my face.

Eye Creams

Its a huge topic of discussion and I have to tell you, I was on the other side of the boat a couple of years ago, where I really didnt see the point of using eye creams. My skin felt just fine. I had some eye bags, but that would go away with the jade roller. So I never thought I needed it, till suddenly I started feeling that my moisturizer was not enough. After wiping my eye makeup, my eye lids would often feel dryer. And I started noticing under eye dark circles which I do blame a lot of computer time to. But I think that was my body going through changes. I could have hidden it with concealer, but as I turned 30, I had this urge of not caking my face with makeup. I liked the natural makeup look, which meant not a lot of help from the concealers.

Zero Baggage Anti-Dark Circle Eye Cream

I read a lot about the Naturally Serious Zero Baggage Anti-Dark Circle Eye Cream and I have to tell you they are all right. Within two weeks of application my dark circles looked lighter. That was the best investment I made. Again, a clean product which makes you happy to use them, it has ingredients that protects your skin from UV rays and other pollutants that cause skin damage.

Lancôme Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Smoothing Eye Cream

This cream is too thick to apply on my eye lid which needs some TLC after wiping the makeup. So, I started with  Lancôme Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Smoothing Eye Cream and I also apply it on my under eye now just so that I dont have any wrinkles. This is a very lightweight cream, so works wonder during the day and night. You can also use it under eye concealer. I apply both the eye creams daytime and night time.
