Being a mama is hard, but dressing for these school events does not have to be so stressful. Because at the end of the you are their for your kids happiness. They want you to be there to enjoy with them, cheer them and support their achievements. And it does not matter if you could not chaperon every event or attend every meeting because you have to put food on the table.
In this post, I am sharing what all stylish working Mamas are wearing to their kids school events so you can recreate these looks worry free. After copying these outfit formulas you will be the next cool mom on the block.
I have been through the whole deal, with a college kid, so I know the feeling first hand. Don’t forget to scroll to the end to see our recent high school grad pics together :).
Effortless Mom Outfits For School Events
Jeans + Tee + Polished Jacket + Sneakers + Hat
This outfit formula is perfect for all your casual school events from school drop off to all the games you are attending. You can swap the tee with the team t-shirt if your kid forced you to buy one.
And hide it under the stylish jacket for that polished look. This way you will look cool and you are also supporting and cheering your kid. In terms of jeans, I love how Jean has worn Wie leg jeans that look effortlessly stylish and are comfortable too.
The cropped jacket balances the wide leg style of the jeans. And the sneakers keep her comfortable to run around. A stylish touch that she has given is by matching the baseball hat shade with the sneakers.
White Jeans + Striped Tee + Shirt Jacket + Ballet Flats
For all my polished Mamas or ladies who are running from office straight to the PTA meeting or kids orientation, this outfit looks polished, sophisticated and will help you not apologize for being late. White barrel jeans are comfortable and so easy to style. They are the classiest summer basics that will elevate all your outfits.
Kaveeta is wearing striped tshirt and added a dark tone shirt jacket and matching ballet flats to create a board room look that can easily transition to a school event.
You can comfortably walk around doing a campus tour in this outfit impressing all your fellow PTA moms. You can also wear this formula for a first day of school for a cute picture with your kid or on a parent teachers meeting where you want to look serious about your kids future.
This outfit is by far my favorite casual look that always looks great.
Full Skirt + Short Sleeve Cardigan + Heels
Need to go to a graduation, concert, dance recital and all those polished school events? This easy to put together outfit formula is here for you. A cute top and a full skirt outfit combination will never fail you. It looks polished without over the top and you look put together for the event where you can take photos with your daughter or son and cheer them for doing an amazing job.
You don’t need to wear a white skirt, you can totally recreate this look with any other skirt color. The full skirt style looks polished and is flattering too. And if you have an outdoor event, the length keeps you safe from a fly away situation with the skirt. That is why a longer skirt is better than wearing a short skirt.
You also don’t want to look like you are trying too hard.
Colored Long Skirt + Vest Top + Flats
Another semi formal outfit formula with skirt that looks chic but not too chic that your Mom friends think that you are here for a party. But you feel like a million bucks effortlessly. And you are ready to cheer your cutie pie in style on their music recital or the school play that they are starring in.
The flats keep you comfortable and you can walk comfortably if you could not find a parking space. Now you do not have to change into something nice as you spring crazily from office to the school event. Your outfit is perfect for the event and for work.
This outfit is perfect for all school events that are semi formal. Where you need to look put together.
Button Down Shirt + Tailored Pants + Sneakers + Blazer
You can wear this outfit from office straight to your kids orientation or rehearsal looking like a power woman which will instantly make your kid feel like they have such a cool mom who can do it all. Isn’t that we all want to feel, our kids are proud of us. I surely feel that way.
If you have a business casual dress code where you are wearing heels with this outfit, keep the sneakers in the car and swap the shoes and head to your kids school event. This outfit looks casual and yet formal and that is why it looks polished for looking like you are serious about the event.
A good pair of tailored pants are the ultimate work wear essential.
Buttoned Cardigan + Blue Jeans + Ballet Flats
The cardigan and jeans outfit formula can never go wrong. It always looks polished effortlessly. And a black buttoned cardigan with blue jeans is classy and elevated. You aren’t even trying too hard in this outfit. You can wear this look with ballet flats or flat Mary janes so you are comfortable and look chic.
And this outfit is perfect for school drop off to orientation day to a school play attendance. You can even wear this to volunteer for chaperoning if that’s your thing.
Nothing feels over dressed but you look amazing in it. And you are comfortable all day. Add a black crewneck T-shirt underneath so you can take of the cardigan if it gets too hot outside. This is your go to look for any school event. You can also wear this to a school game and turn all the heads of fellow Mamas.
Denim Dress + Ballet Flats
If you are someone who does not like to draw too much attention and want to just be there for your kid, but still want to look chic, then a denim shirt dress is the perfect combo of casual and stylish.
The shirt dress style always makes the outfit polished and and the denim fabric makes it effortless. This way it does not feel like you have tried too hard to look stylish but you do look good.
A ballet flats adds to the effortless style of the outfit and add a cute shoulder bag for the effortless cool mom look in the next school event.
You can wear this outfit to the next PTA meeting, school recital or even to a PTA meeting in confidence.
Black Dress + Colored Cardigan + White Sandals
This mom outfit idea is perfect for ladies who love dressing up and want to look their best at the next formal school event. May it be graduation ceremony or concert. Or a ballet performance where you want to look chic supporting and cheering your little one.
A black dress will instantly look more stylish effortlessly and it’s not going to overshadow your kids outfit. Usually they were white to a lot of these school events. So you are not going to blend in with them.
If you don’t want to wear a solid black, go for a printed one. The idea is to have memories where it does not feel like you are wearing the same thing as your kid.
