What to Wear to Wineries In Summer: Style and Comfort

In this post I am sharing some chic and stylish outfit formulas that for your next winery trip or even for your downtown casual wine tasting event. These events are really fun summer events but often a confusing one in terms of how you want to dress.

You definitely don’t want to look too fancy because wine tasting always feels laidback and an enjoyable event where you also want to feel comfortable. But at the same time you also don’t want to look frumpy and too casual and specially if you want to take some cute pictures.

The outfit formulas that I am sharing can be easily recreated and really chic but at the same time really comfortable that you will feel amazing wearing them.

Winery Outfit Ideas with Skirts & Dresses

Dresses are always the perfect chic and outdoor piece that will look great for wine tasting, but you don’t have to wear really fancy dresses, so I am sharing some outfit formulas with dresses that you can also wear everyday or other occasions but you can use them for your winery look as well.

Black Dress With Prints

Looking for a modern winery outfit that still looks feminine and chic, try a side slit black dress with floral prints.

This is specially great for any night time wine tasting you might be doing at the downtown. The side slit adds a flirty touch to the outfit.

Pair it with bright colored sandals for a chic summer look. And add your favorite handbag.

If it’s full sleeves, you won’t even need a third layer which makes it easier to walk around.

Bohemian Short Dress

Wineries feel bohemian and closer to nature and a bohemian style short length dress would look so chic and stylish to hang out in a winery and enjoy some delicious wines.

This style of dress always looks chic for events that are a mix of stylish and yet relaxed. You don’t look like you have put a lot of effort but the outfit still looks stylish. And I think its because of the ruffle details and the keyhole neckline.

Since it’s a shot length dress, you can pick a darker shade as well if that feels more comfortable. But prints are what makes this outfit more fun.

Just pair summer accessories like a white straw hat or a straw bag and look chic.

If you don’t want to wear a long sleeve dress, you can also opt for a cute short sleeve cotton dress with fun natural prints that looks fresh and perfect for wine tasting.

And carry a lightweight jacket with you so you can layer if you decide to sit indoors.

Slip Dress

A slip dress is the ultimate summer dress which is versatile and can be worn for so many different events. And the best part is that you can dress it up or dress it down depending on where you want to wear it.

I also chose a colored slip dress because you don’t necessarily only have to buy a black slip dress. A colored dress will work as well. But the dress by itself can feel a bit fancy and I wanted it to look a bit laidback. So, I added a linen shirt and tied it in the front that brings a casual touch to this dress and dresses it down.

With this combination, I feel like the outfit was looking more tropical so I paired them with espadrilles that adds sophistication to the entire look. I still wore a straw hat to have coverage if I am sitting outside and doing some amazing wine tasting in a pretty vineyard.

And the straw handbag looks so good with this outfit so had to add it as well.

Shirt Dress

A shirt dress does not have to be formal or boring. It has a lot more potential than just wearing to Sunday church, to work or kids birthday parties. In this outfit I am wearing this really neutral polka dotted ankle length short dress that is more appropriate for everyday.

But I unbuttoned a couple of buttons at the bottom of the dress which instantly transforms this dress into more effortless chic dress that you can wear to a romantic event.

Since the dress is really neutral and plain Jane, I added a wide wester style belt to add some personality and it also elevates this entire look. It also creates a feminine waistline and compliments this outfit.

For my footwear I chose black espadrille wedges which adds more elegance but the color does not over power the outfit. And that is also the reason why I went with a black straw hat.

You don’t have to wear a printed shirt dress. You can also pick a solid shirt dress in a fun color.

In summer, wearing natural fabric like cotton and linen feels way more comfortable. Pick a colorful colored shirt dress that looks bright. This will lift your mood and make you look chic while sipping delicious wine overlooking the vineyard.

You will stay comfortable and look stylish.

What Skirts and Tops To Wear to Wineries In Spring & Summer?

Tiered Midi Skirt With A BodySuit

The tiered midi skirt is one of the most popular skirt style that easily turns any look into boho chic look. You can wear it with anything and it still looks cute effortless and fun. But here, I am wearing it with a black bodysuit that highlights the yellow skirt.

A bodysuit actually feels better when you wear it with the skirt because everything stays tucked in and put together instead of riding up. But if you choose to wear a t shirt, then adding a thick belt will also keep the top stay intact as well create a stylish and elevated look with a waist definition.

For my shoes I chose platform sandals that elevate the gives me a but of height. It also is open toe so it adds a chic touch to the entire look.

Because of the light colored skirt I chose a tan hat and bag that would brighten up the whole look even if you are wearing a black top for summer. This is great way to style all your black t shirts and still look bright and fun for summer.

I love tiered midi length skirts that easily dress up even the most casual tops.

At the same time they are comfortable and flattering to wear as well. Even if there is a slight wind, since they are long skirts, you are safe and you can drink and have a good time without showing any bloat.

Faux Leather Skirt With Puff Sleeve Tops

In this outfit formula I am wearing a simple blue with small printed puff sleeve top that is so versatile and is like an everyday top that you can wear but I am pairing it with a colorful yellow faux leather midi skirt.

It does not have to be a faux leather material, but pairing a darker top with a brighter skirt automatically elevates the entire look. This is like my effortless chic outfit that is elevated just by itself.

For my footwear, I chose strappy sandals because the midi skirt is making me look short because of cutting me right in the middle of the calf. The strapped sandals shows more of my legs which elevates and makes me look taller.

You do not have to probably do anything else with this outfit so, I just chose a simple crossbody bag that just compliments the outfit but not overpowering.

Winery Outfit Ideas With Pants

Crop Top with Wide Leg Pants

You can create a chic winery outfit with clothes that you already have like wide leg pants. Pair it with a chic crop top with puff sleeve to instantly make the pants look appropriate for the occasion.

Your legs are still covered if you are sitting outside during the day or night and don’t want a mosquito bite.

Add some platform heels to elongate your legs. And chic handbag.

Jeans & Bohemian Top

Just because it is hot, does not mean you have to wear tank top with your jeans and call it a day. A bohemian style top with fun prints and patterns will elevate your denim look. And this outfit will be perfect for a wine location or even a small wine tasting bar in your downtown location where you do not necessarily need to dress up a lot.

It looks laid back as well as stylish. Since I am wearing a straight leg jeans which almost covers my ankles, I chose open toe mule sandals that elongates my legs as well as add a summer touch to this outfit.

Add a cute straw hat to complete the boho chic look and also some sun protection.

The fun part of a printed top is that you can also wear it with skirts or denim skirts and create more wine tasting outfits. So, the top won’t be a one time wear only.

These style of tops look modest and effortless elevate your jeans look.

Matching Vest And Pants

This is another modern yet fun winery outfit. A matching set always looks chic and polished. And you don’t have to wear white if that intimidates you. You can take this outfit formula in any color.

I am sharing similar pieces in different colors. Summer is all about having fun and colors are an instant way to make your outfits fun. You are welcome.

You can add open toe sandals or espadrilles to bring that winery vibe to this look.

Jeans & Ruffle neck Top

The ruffles looks so cute and also dress up the jeans so, you literally do not need anything else to accessorize this outfit. So I decided to keep my shoes and hat more on the tan side so that they compliment this bright colored top and complete this bohemian yet really comfy outfit that you can wear to indoor as well as outdoor wine tasting locations.

Straight leg jeans are my absolute favorite for summer because they look stylish and flatter any body shape and at the same time are more comfortable than skinny jeans when its hot out.

The ruffle details in the top add a bohemian look. But you don’t need to wear a sleeveless top, if you don’t have to. You can pick pick a short sleeve one as well.

It’s all about finding a balance between comfort and looking good. And you never have to compromise.
