If you know me, you know that I am not a trend person. I love them, but I usually don’t hop on the trend train till I have weighed in the pros and cons of the trend itself and see a more worth of the investment I make, and it applies to everything that I buy always. So, you can say I am a bit picky.
So, when I saw some of my favorite youtubers and bloggers wearing this bag and it immediately grabbed my attention. Now, what did grab my attention initially was why are they so obsessed with this simple bag. A bag that is so basic to probably most of us. Bottega Veneta is one of the Classic timeless brands established in 1966 way before I was born masters the art of intricate weaving technique is all of its exquisite designs called “intrecciato”. A company with craftsmanship of detail and simplicity. I had many times crossed by the store in the valley fair mall and to be honest felt like this is something that a 50 year old myself would wear and was waiting for that day to come.
To me it portrays the ancient craftsmanship work that I have only seen in museums. The pouch has magnetic clasp opening, which is perfect because that makes the bag more flexible and you could keep a variety of things in it because there are no shape constraints unlike other bags where you would have to think of what length or depth of items would fit in. I think this is the biggest reason that this bag has reached enormous popularity in the fashion industry.
The dainty string like straps are actually detachable which converts this shoulder bag to a clutch which is just amazing because, I love carrying it as a clutch, but love to have the option of straps when I need my hands free.
I can totally predict the Bottega Veneta pouch to become the next classic timeless bag like the Hermes Birkin bag and the Chanel Envelope flap bag which are such timeless pieces that they become more precious as they age. This pouch comes in 2 sizes and with the signature weave pattern leather as well.
