Raffia bags are the perfect accessory for your vacation looks and I stumbled on this beautiful shoulder bag from Tod’s. This bag just spoke to me when I stared at the photos online. But I also want to share my honest opinion after using it on my recent trip to Morocco.
The shoulder bag is called Tod’s T Timeless Raffia Bag. And it’s in the color tan and black.
In this post, I will share whether this bag is worth the money I spent on it. And how it did during the travel.
About The Shoulder Bag
The bag is called T Timeless bag and it’s in the shoulder bag style. The bag is originally priced at $3175, but I bought this when it went on sale for $2863. This is not really that big of a discount anyways.
I loved the contrast of black and tan which is a versatile color combo. This is the first multicolored bag that I own which has such drastic contrasting handbag even in high street versions. But for some reason even with the contrasting weave style, the bag looks classy and sophisticated.
Size and Material
The bag looks small but is really roomy. With two different compartments and a boxy design, it boasts of ample room for a day trip where you can put a lot of items in it. It also helps that the body of the bag is carefully crafted with a blend of raffia weaves and calf leather.
This makes the bag stretchy in places where you want it to be and rigid where it needs to retain its shape. I also love that the bag easily flattened in my carry on which makes it suitable for travel.
I packed the bag with a compact wallet, my iPhone pro max, 3 passports, lipstick, mint and other small items. And it fitted very well without any bulging.
The shoulder straps are hardware and calf leather. But the hardware is placed just right that you can comfortably carry the bag around all day.
Design and Look
The Tod’s T Timeless Shoulder bag also comes with a crossbody strap which makes the bag so much more versatile. These days I am carrying my bags as shoulder bag, so I did not carry the shoulder strap with me from the fear of loosing it. But having detachable straps style for both shoulder strap and the crossbody strap makes this bag really versatile.
Because you can also carry it as a clutch. Isn’t that a genius craftsman? This is what makes a bag truly versatile and perfect for travel. Now you don’t have to carry 3 different bags that will serve different purpose. You just need one.
The base of the bag is made of leather which keeps the shape intact and won’t make any heavy item sag the bag since the raffia is soft.
The magnetic clasp lock is really well designed; it snaps every time and stays put. Its also really concealed, so you can really focus on the T logo at the front.
Now the logo is made of plastic and matches the tan leather. While I would have loved a hardware one, it would not have worked on the raffia fabric. Again, really thought through design that balances function and style.
Overall Thoughts
I wore this bag with so many outfits in Morocco, sharing some here. And it fit perfectly with them. This bag also looked understated and did not scream designer, so you will feel safe wearing it. And the bag is pretty lightweight, so you can stuff it in and not worry about your shoulder hurting at the end of the day.
I also did not see any wear and tear at all in any way having used it regularly during the trip.
Since I love the Tod’s T Timeless bag in raffia, I am sure the all leather versions are equally amazing.
