Looking to buy a nice pair of loafer mules and stumbled upon the Tory Burch Jessa mules? And you are wondering whether these are worth the purchase? In this post I am sharing a complete review of these loafer mules and where to shop them at.
Do You Need Loafer Mules?
If you are upgrading your existing flats and wondering do you even need loafer mules, the answer to that is simply Yes!
I have been wearing loafer mules for almost a decade now, and I have not felt better. Most flats like Ballerina flats or slingback flats feel restricted as if they are made for smaller feet.
I do have narrow feet, but I know that my feet feels much more comfortable.
And you can wear these shoes all year round, of course except for when it’s raining. But you get the picture. Moreover they actually look good with everything. I have worn loafer mules with dresses, skirts, jeans and so on.
Is Tory Burch a Designer Brand?
Tory Burch is a relatively new brand founded in 2004 in New York by Tory herself. She has since taken the brand to a global scale by hosting fashion shows and also selling in all major global retailers.
This definitely gives Tory Burch a designer status, as they not only have shoes, but also feature handbags, accessories and ready to wear.
But yes, Tory Burch is not a luxury brand yet, but its definitely comparable to brands like Marc Jacobs, Stuart Weitzman, Jacquemus and more like these young brands who are making a mark in the fashion world with their innovations.

Why I Bought These
I owned white and other colored loafer mules and my older Steve Madden needed an upgrade for an upcoming trip to Egypt.
Now, I owned a pair of Gucci Loafer mules in white and Jimmy Choos in black fabric. And both of these loafer mules felt delicate one being in white and the other not being in leather. So, I decided to look for a good quality loafer mules that I can wear to the airport and also get some more wear out of while walking in Egypt for touring.
And I stumbled upon these ones from Nordstrom.
What attracted me were the gorgeous horse hardware. They just looked so fun to wear.
Price And Fit
The loafer mules are priced at $298 which was a selling point for me. Most good quality stylish loafer mules from designers go from $400 onwards.
I didn’t want to spend a lot on shoes that might get damaged in the trip, I wasn’t sure.
I picked them up in size US 7 1/2 which is my regular size and they just fit perfectly.
Design, Material And Comfort
The elongated front style and deeper flap felt a but weird initially. But as I styled them with outfits, they complimented all of them. So, I was sold.
Now, the top of the loafers mules are made of pebbled grained leather which is a really durable leather. As you can see from the current state, they pretty much look like brand new.
Even after wearing them for almost 2 years there are no scartches.
The interior is also lined with leather which wears and softens as you wear them. Yes, I have never experienced leather shoes softening as you wear them.
This one feels super comfortable now, which makes wearing them without toe socks so easy.
And I feel like these shoes stretch slightly as well, giving your feet more room to breathe.
But don’t worry the loafer mules have not lost their shape. I think it’s because of the interior softer leather and the strong grained exterior leather.
Moreover the hardware feels untouched. I was most worried about those, as they stict out unlike horse bit styles of loafer mules where the hardware lays perfectly flat on the leather top.
And I have made no attempt of caring for the hardware either other than the occasional dusting or wiping.
Sole Durability
The biggest concern we have when we buy expensive shoes are sole durability. And I have noticed a lot of luxury brands don’t make durable soles for their everyday shoes. I have resoled a lot of these ones so I can continue to wear them.
The Tory Burch Jessa Mules have a 1/2 inch heel and thick soles which of course has worn since I have been wearing them for so long. But they have not worn out so much that I need to resole them.
Maybe a year more and I might have to think.
And the heels are what make them comfortable as well as they give your arch some support for walking. Because walking is really skinny sole shoes is uncomfortable.
How Long To Break Them In
It took me 2 flight trips or more like 2 -3 wears to break them in which was pretty good. But these shoes don’t need a lot of breaking in as the interior leather is soft and feels like a good cushion.
Overall Thoughts
These loafer mules have become a staple in my everyday wear. I can just slip into them and head to anywhere because I know that they work well with all my outfits.
And in the price point, these shoes are doing much better than my Gucci Loafer mules that costed me almost $900 along with $100 for adding more soles to them so I can wear them everyday.
I feel like I have already gotten the wear out of them and am now thinking of getting them in white.
