Lou & Grey is one of the most popular Athleisure brands for women that aims at elevated athletic pieces that look stylish and are comfortable as well.
In this post I am sharing my honest opinion on their latest Luvstretch wide pants and also answering some of your questions on what to buy from their Luvstretch collection.
About The Brand
Lou & Grey was established in 2014 as a Casual Sporty brand by Ann inc who also own brands like Loft and ANN TAYLOR.
The brand aimed at being a digital magazine and Comfortable clothing for everyday woman that looked stylish as well all aimed for the Californian living.
They also had their dedicated stores in major cities like Chicago, Raleigh and San Jose (Bay Area). This is where I had discovered them.
The price range for the products were a little higher than loft but definitely cheaper than Lululemon.
In 2022, the brand was merged with Loft as an athleisure line. Ann Inc already had Athleta which is a major competitor to Lululemon. That might have a been a major factor in the merger as well since the brand vision for Lou & Grey now aligned with Loft which sells clothes for everyday women.
What I Bought
I was looking for comfortable pants that I can wear for traveling as well as when I am working from home with some waist support. Naturally, you would think, leggings are the best, but to me leggings all day feel restricted.
And I wanted to try their Luvstretch collection anyways.
So, I bought the Luvstretch wide leg pants in the size SMALL. All Loft clothes are True to size for me. I can wear my exact sizes in them, which is why I love the brand as well. Shopping becomes easy when you can find clothes in your known sizes.
These wide leg pants are priced at $89.95 which is pretty reasonable when you compare them to Lululemon, Athleta.
Comparison with Famous Brands
If you compare these wide leg pants with the best athletic brands in the market, the price and color choices to me were pretty reasonable.
Athleta Venice wide leg pants which have the exact same design came in Black and Teal. And they are priced at $119.
Lululemon Align™ High-Rise Wide-Leg Pants come in Black and Gray. And are priced at $128.
So, with $89.95, the Lou & Grey Luvstretch wide leg pants are pretty good deal to me. Moreover, Loft offers time to time discounts which is an added bonus in scoring a better deal.

Pants Review
Waist Design
These wide leg pants come with a wide waist band, that acts as a tummy control band which is the biggest reason I bought these pants. Even though I don’t have big belly pooch, motherhood has changed my core forever and any support is helpful.
But I hate wearing shapers as they are uncomfortable and extra step. These pants on the other hand are comfortable tight around my waist and give me the core support I need.
Length
These pants come in one length – 30 1/2 inches which is long for women who are under 5 ft 5 inches.
I am about 5 ft 6 inches tall and the pants fall just below my feet. So, if I wear sneakers which have 1/2 inch to 1 inch sole height, I can easily rock these pants without dragging them on the ground.
So, if you are on the Petite side, you can opt for taller footwear. Or you can also wear the pants a little higher on the waist. The wide waist band makes it easy.
Material
All of the Luvstretch collection are made of 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex, which makes these pants super soft and comfortable to wear and stretchable, so you can move easily.
Fit
I am a big fan of wide leg pants because they look stylish by balancing out my straight figure and they are super comfortable when you are on the move.
These pants definitely delivered in that. I also worry about visible panty line when I am wearing athletic pants as they are always made out of thinner material, but these pants don’t have any problem.
I can easily wear them with T shirts and sweaters and look put together.
Overall Thoughts
I recently wore these pants on a road trip and they delivered on the comfort. I sat in the car fr about 8 hours and didn’t get any marks around my waist or felt tight.
They look stylish paired with regular tops and outerwear because of the style. So, you don’t feel like you are wearing athletic clothes.
I did wish these pants came in a petite friendly size. I am hoping they will once they see how successful the design is.
If you are looking for travel friendly pants that also look put together then you should definitely try the Lou & Grey Luvstrtech Wide Leg Pants.
