Beach vacations always seem like a fantasy vacation to me. Sharing my top tips on how you can pack worry free and be a pro at it for your next dream beach vacation so you don’t feel like you are missing something, or stressed about packing in general.
Yay! We are off to a beach vacation in the middle of winter here, and now I have to flip my whole wardrobe to find what to pack for the trip. This can be overwhelming! I am there with you girl! Over the years, I have actively tried to pack lighter and lighter to be honest because guess what I have realized that 60% of what I pack is what I wear, huh! Isn’t that weird, so this time around I wanted to share with you some tips of how to pack for a beach vacation and not stress.
PACK LIGHT!!
I mean everything you wear on a beach is light isn’t it, so what does this mean. It means that often, we over plan our outfits (At least I am guilty of it), and when we actually get to the time to take it out and wear it, we get lazy because guess what, that’s what vacations are for!! To be lazy! So, packing minimal and smarter is a great way of doing that. Pick out a few key pieces that you need and you will definitely wear, and pack a few basics that you can pair with them. And guess what you also won’t have the urge to shop for new stuff because, if you do buy it, you have to wait for the next year (assuming you are in winter now), to wear it and by that time you probably are over the style anyways.
So save some money and do that.
INVEST IN ORGANIZERS
Oh Boy, am I asking you to spend money! This one is worth it, trust me. You need to get organizers, for your luggage for a billion reasons! Shall we list them, ok don’t be sacred, let me walk you through it. You need to keep your toiletries safe. Yes, I have had these incidents where my entire shampoo bottle is on my clothes, and there goes my vacation plans.
You also would be able to find all your belongings, like chargers, cases, tripods, small accessories, which is time consuming and stressful when all you want to do is get to the destination or catch the tour bus.

KEEP ROOM IN YOUR LUGGAGE
Honestly I struggle with this as well, because its easy to just pack everything that I want into the suitcase if it fits, but its always important to keep 10 to 15% empty space in your suitcase. Woho, I know! no math needed here, you need to leave at least a few pounds off the assigned baggage weight limit in case you need to buy that one art piece, or some clothes, scented candles. I could go on and on. But you get the picture. A great way of doing that is to carry travel size beauty and skin care products so that you are actually saving them, and you can through away the pack when you are out of it, saving some space there.
CREATE A CHECKLIST
I did one for my summer road trip and boy was that helpful, I not only managed to take everything I needed, I was stress free from the thought that I am not forgetting something, because there could be million things going on in your mind which can make you forget this. Depending on the number of days and amenities available in your hotel, come up with a must have list of items that you would need and try to stick to that.
I love packing tops and bottoms because they can become so many outfits.
SKINCARE
Now, I will combine this with makeup as well. Beaches are really humid places, yes a lot of us forget this, and pack a full on makeup carry on with us and when we go there, we are sweating everything out. So, just relax and let your skin breathe as well. Pack compact powders instead of foundation which is more breathable and lighter. You can always add concealer to areas that needs it. This way, you dont have to spend time doing your makeup and worrying about sweating. Pack on bright lipsticks and jewelery that will compliment your natural vibe in the beach destination.
The same goes for hair, let loose, but take plenty of hair ties, because you will need them more often. Its hot on the beach and thats the reason you are going there. So, put your hair in a cute bun, or braids and enjoy your vacay.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR HOME!
Ok, I say this because it happens a lot. We leave in a hurry and forget to turn off the gas line, or sprinklers or something else. We dont want to do that do we. Take a print of the checklist below and mark it checked one you are done. Or if you are a more of a tech person, set up reminders and that way you actually don’t forget.
