Figuring out which boots to wear with jeans can sometimes feel like solving a fashion puzzle. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! Whether you prefer skinny jeans that hug your legs, relaxed boyfriend jeans, or any other style, the right choice of boots can make your outfit shine.

In this guide we break down the how to pair boots with different jeans, making sure you step out in style every time.

What Boots To Wear With Skinny Jeans?

Skinny jeans will remain our all time favorite, but this is a great way you can update your skinny jeans outfit. Simply upgrade your boots styles.

Now, when I talk about skinny jeans, it’s just not tight fitted ones. There are narrow rigid jeans that we can also categorize as skinny jeans.

Skinny jeans is easy to wear with boots, but if you want to elevate the look, then you need to pick the right styles.

Skinny Jeans Styles To Wear

White Chelsea Boots

This will work wether you are wearing blue, black or even which skinny or slim fit jeans. pairing them with white Chelsea boots will instantly elevate your outfit and make it look fresh.

Because of the bright shade, white boots look much more expensive and new. Of course, you need to take care of your white boots

In terms of style, simple white pointy toe ones will always look good. But you can also look for square toe style. The goal is to find a pair that looks chi and elevated.

Skinny jeans often narrows your bottom section. Whether you are skinny, or curvy, it feels the same way. So, wearing bulkier footwear will balance your sweater weather outfits.

And that is why lug sole boots look the best with skinny jeans specially if they are really fitted.

And it does not matter whether you wear black, white or tan lug sole ankle boots, they still look awesome.

Wondering which ones to buy, checkout our best lug sole ankle boots roundup.

Combat Boots

Combat boots are really popular in the cold weather because they are often lined and add a detail to  your layered look. The lace detail always looks fantastic and will elevate the narrow slim fit of the skinny jeans.

And you can wear it with slim fit as well as skinny jeans. And they also come with lug sole. So if you live in a snow area, these shoes will look stylish and are great for walking as well.

Tall Boots

Skinny and slim fit jeans are perfect for tall boots. This is the biggest reason they become really popular jeans in winter weather when we need additional warmth with tall boots.

But in terms of styles of tall boots that actually look good and will elevate your skinny jeans. Pick tall boots that have block heels. They will elongate your legs and will also look sophisticated compared to flat boots.

Sam Edelman tall boots are my fav style. They are budget friendly and look really stylish. And they are really comfortable to walk in as well.

You can pick pointed toe if you are petite and need more height. Or you can pick rounded toe as well. But the key is to avoid flat boots. They look frumpy.

What Boots To Wear With Straight Leg Jeans?

Straight leg jeans have become really popular in the last few years and for good reason. They look stylish and elevated and flatter women who don’t have model like figure. Which means for all body type.

But they are also a bit harder to style boots with. Checkout this detailed blog post where I am styling straight leg jeans with boots

Straight Leg jeans styles

Block Heel Chelsea Boots

If you are wearing longer straight leg jeans that will cover your ankles, you need boots that will have some heel so your feet looks elongated.

Block heel Chelsea boots are stylish and comfortable for walking as well. And they look great with straight leg jean. The Chelsea style will hug your ankles and so there will be no issue of your jeans getting caught in the boots.

Lug Sole Chelsea Boots

If you own cropped style of straight leg jeans, then you need something that gives you hight and also looks elevated.

Lug sole Chelsea boots are flat but because of the lug sole they add some height to your outfit. And they look really stylish with cropped straight leg jeans.

But I would recommend either picking white lug sole Chelsea boots or black which look stylish compared to tan shade.

Pointed Heel Ankle Boots

Pointed heeled ankle boots are dressier ankle boots and they will compliment the structured straight leg jeans.

And this is where you can have fun with some colors and styles. The pointed heels don’t have to be really tall ones, you can pick kitten heels that will be comfortable and will look stylish.

These ankle boots will dress up your straight leg jeans. So, you can pick them for date night or special occasion outfit with jeans.

What Boots To Wear With Wide Leg Jeans?

Wide leg jeans are another really great pair to wear in winter weather where it’s really cold. Because you can easily layer legging under it. These jeans styles also look flattering on all body types.

But you can’t wear all styles of boots with them and expect to look good. Here are some of my recommendations.

Wide Leg Jeans Styles

Block Heel Ankle Boots

Because of the wide leg style, if you pair flat boots, you will look shorter and bulkier in wide leg jeans. So, instead pick block heel ankle boots that will add some height and will elongate your legs.

In terms of color, I recommend going for black or dark tan, because these colors will make you look tall. But if you are wearing white jeans, then you can also opt for white or nude block heel ankle boots.

Pointed Heel Ankle Boots

Just like block heels, the pointed heels will elongate your legs in wide leg jeans. Hence there are perfect pair to wear with them.

You can easily create dressed up work outfit or even going out outfits with pointed heels ankle boots.

Another bonus point would be if you pick pointed toe Ankle boots which also have pointed heels. These ankle boots are a must have for all Petite ladies.

Sock Boots

Sock boots are a great pair if you want to look leaner in wide leg jeans. The wide leg style of jeans makes you look broader in the bottom section. If you are curvy or plus size, that makes you feel bulkier.

An easy fix is to add sock boots that literally feel like a sock and will slim your wide leg jeans outfit.

What Boots To Wear With Flared Jeans?

Flared jeans are making a come back, and I am not complaining. If you are tired of wearing skinny jeans but want the same style and bottom hugging fit that the skinny jeans gives you, then flared jeans are a great alternative style of jeans

Here are the best styles of boots you can wear with them.

Flared Jeans Styles

Pointed Toe Heeled Ankle Boots

Pointed Toe heeled ankle boots will look great with both longer flared jeans as well as cropped flared jeans.

But these ankle boots particularly flatter the cropped flared jeans. And help you look leaner and taller in them.

This is great way to dress up your cropped jeans if you they have raw hem.

Block Heeled Ankle Boots

Heels are important with flared jeans because most of them drag on the floor. So, if you pick block heeled boots you will be comfortable in them and they will elevate your legs and make you look even taller.

You don’t really need to focus too much on the toe style of the boots here, but bulky lug sole boots will not look flattering with flared jeans.
